WASHINGTON, Sept 10 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti weightlifter Mohammad Al-Nasser won two bronze medals on Wednesday at the World Masters Championship in Las Vegas, marking Kuwait's first-ever participation in the event.
Al-Nasser secured third place in the clean and jerk (45-year age group, 94kg category) and also claimed a bronze in the overall total. The championship, which runs from September 4 to 13, features 100 athletes from 80 countries.
Speaking to KUNA, Al-Nasser expressed pride in his achievement, dedicating the medals to Kuwait's leadership and people.
He extended his gratitude to Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Sport Bashar Al-Abdullah, and President of the Kuwait Weightlifting Federation Talal Al-Jassar for their support.
