The Arab-Japanese Youth Forum kicks off at the Arab League
CAIRO, Aug 20 (KUNA) -- The Arab-Japanese Youth Forum labeled "bridges of dialogue and culture" kicked off in the Egyptian capital on Wednesday, setting a platform for exchanging views and boosting cultural rapprochement between the two nations.
Ambassador Mohammad Al-Ojairi (from the State of Kuwait), the Arab League assistant secretary general and head of the administrative and finance affairs at the organization, addressed the inaugural session, noting that the Arab-Japanese cooperation has significantly increased since the forum founding in 2009 and launch of the Arab-Japanese Dialogue at the ministerial level in 2013.
The Arab League and Japan signed, in 2013, a memo aimed at boosting dialogue among civilizations through communications between the Arab and Japanese literati, he added.
In April 2025, the Arab League Ministerial Council expressed, during its 163rd session, keenness on elevating relations with Japan at the political, economic, social and cultural levels.
Al-Ojairi said the Arab League's Culture and Civilians Dialogue Department called for organizing this forum to facilitate integration between the Arab and Japanese young generations. (end)
