KUWAIT, Aug 17 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced Sunday the arrest of 258 individuals in violation of residency and labor laws during a wide-scale security campaign covering all six governorates.
In a statement, the ministry said the campaign was carried out under the directives of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah, and supervised by Head of the Citizenship and Residency Sector, Brigadier General Fawaz Al-Roumi.
The arrests included individuals wanted for various violations, such as expired residency permits, visa overstays, absconding cases, and other offenses, it added.
The Ministry affirmed that efforts to track and apprehend violators will continue, stressing that both workers and employers will be held accountable in accordance with law. (end)
