RAMALLAH, Aug 6 (KUNA) -- At least twenty Palestinians were killed and other dozens injured, late Tuesday, after an aid truck overturned onto a crowd of civilians waiting for aid, local media reported Wednesday.
Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) said that the incident occurred as large numbers of civilians gathered in search for humanitarian aid amid a worsening famine and ongoing Israeli occupation aggression on Gaza.
On its part, Gaza Government Media Office stated that the Israeli occupation's deliberate policies have led to the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of civilians who were trying to access aid, the latest being this incident.
It further explained that the truck was forced to use unsafe, previously bombed routes, revealing the deliberate catastrophic chaos engineered by the occupation.
The statement also called on the international community, the United Nations, and humanitarian rights organizations to intervene to put an end to this crime, push for opening border crossings immediately and sustainably as well as allowing the unimpeded entry of aid and medical supplies. (end)
