PORT SUDAN, Aug 4 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society's (KRCS) 36th aircraft in Kuwait's humanitarian air bridge arrived on Monday at Port Sudan International Airport, carrying approximately 10 tons of food and shelter supplies in addition to land transport vehicles, to alleviate the suffering of civilians amid the humanitarian crisis.
Kuwait's Ambassador to Sudan, Dr. Fahad Al-Dhafiri affirmed that the KRCS continues to carry out its humanitarian and relief campaigns in Sudan despite the complexity of regional conditions.
Speaking to KUNA, Ambassador Al-Dhafiri said that these aid efforts reflect Kuwait's humanitarian approach, which serves as an extension of its diplomatic outreach to address and respond to crises across the globe.
He stressed that the society has never wavered in its mission and that it continues to deliver urgent humanitarian support to those in need, including in Sudan and Gaza.
He noted that these efforts are carried out under the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Ambassador Al-Dhafiri explained that this shipment continues a series of relief initiatives directed by the Kuwaiti leadership, including essential materials to meet urgent needs in the most affected areas.
He also noted that three large cargo ships carrying thousands of tons of food, medical supplies, and medicines for chronic and critical illnesses have reached Sudan in recent months.
