Official: Turkiye bolstering firefighting efforts in several provinces amid blazes

ISTANBUL, July 28 (KUNA) -- Firefighting teams in Turkiye are continuing to combat fires throughout several provinces, said a Turkish official Monday.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry in Turkey is Ibrahim Yumakli revealed that fires were ongoing in three Turkish provinces in Bursa, Karabuk, and Kahramanmaras.
He revealed that teams dealt with 44 fires throughout the country with thousands of air and land teams involved.
Some 3,515 citizens were evacuated in Bursa, Yumakli pointed out, noting that efforts to put out blazes in Karabuk were considerably successful.
Turkiye had been witnessing a period of extreme heat reaching above 50 degrees Celsius and dry conditions, causing wildfires in several regions.
The government took several steps in recent years to counter such natural disasters. (end) to.gta
