Egypt, France affirm need of fair solution to Palestine cause

CAIRO, July 26 (KUNA) -- Egypt's President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on Saturday underlined the importance of reaching an inclusive and just solution to the Palestinian cause, in line with international legitimacy resolutions.
Over the telephone, the two sides touched upon Egypt's mediation efforts made for a ceasefire in Gaza, exchanging hostages, and approperiate and enough humanitarian aid access to Gazans, Egyptian presidential spokesman Ambassador Mohammad Al-Shenawi said in a news statement.
Al-Sisi welcomed Macron's recent announcement regarding his country's determination to officially recognize Palestine's state during the UN General Assembly in September, Al-Shenawi noted.
The move came within France's continued efforts aiming to implement the two-state solution, the only way to meet aspiration of Palestinians and Israelis to live in peace side by side, and achieve permanent peace and stability in the region.
Egypt backs the Saudi-France initiative on organizing a high-level international conference on the peaceful settlement of Palestinian cause due in New York this month, the statement noted.
Meanwhile, Macron emphasized his country's full backing to Egypt's endeavors for lull in Gaza and the resumption of peace process.
They affirmed their deep-rooted ties and determination to build on momentum in a way that boosts their collaboration in multiple domains, mainly economy and investments, the statement concluded. (end) aff.nsa.hm
