ISLAMABAD, July 16 (KUNA) -- At least three "terrorists" and a Pakistani soldier were killed in a security operation in the southwestern province of Balochistan.
The security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Awaran District of Balochistan against terrorists belonging to "Indian Proxy," Pakistan military's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.
During the operation and intense fire exchange, three Indian sponsored terrorists were killed and a brave officer of the Pakistan army who was leading his troops from the front, fought gallantly and paid the ultimate sacrifice, ISPR confirmed.
"Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian Sponsored Terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of our brave men further strengthen our resolve," the statement added.
Earlier in the day, at least three people were killed and seven others injured as a passenger bus was attacked by militants in Kalat district of Balochistan.
The operation comes at a time when Pakistan is witnessing a rise in terror attacks especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan. (end)
