UK calls for investigation into West Bank diplomatic delegation shooting

LONDON, May 22 (KUNA) -- The British government on Thursday called on the Israeli occupation forces to open a full and immediate investigation into the shooting incident against the international diplomatic delegation in the West Bank.
In a press statement, British Minister of State for the Middle East, Hamish Falconer, described the Israeli occupation forces' shooting of foreign diplomats as "unacceptable," confirming that two British diplomats were among the delegation that survived the incident.
Falconer called for the protection of civilians and for diplomatic delegations to be able to carry out their duties without hindrance.
A multinational diplomatic delegation visiting the West Bank at the invitation of the Palestinian National Authority was shot at the entrance to the Jenin refugee camp on Wednesday, sparking a wave of global condemnation from several Arab and Western countries. (end) mrn.ao
