China hosts trilateral talks to boost Afghan-Pakistan ties
BEIJING, May 22 (KUNA) -- The foreign ministers of China, Afghanistan and Pakistan have held an informal trilateral meeting on Wednesday in Beijing, chaired by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Xinhua News Agency said the talks focused on deepening trilateral cooperation, boosting political trust, and expanding the Belt and Road Initiative by linking the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor with Afghanistan.
The ministers also discussed Afghanistan's reconstruction, trade expansion and joint efforts against terrorism, stressing their rejection of foreign interference in regional affairs.
They agreed to hold the sixth round of the trilateral dialogue soon in Kabul, adding that Afghanistan and Pakistan expressed readiness to resume full diplomatic relations and exchange ambassadors. (end)
