The diplomatic delegation was on an official visit to Jenin, which had been coordinated in advance with the Israeli army.
The convoy consisted of about twenty clearly marked diplomatic vehicles, the minister explained.
He stressed that Belgium is demanding "convincing explanations" from the Israeli government regarding this serious incident, which raises major concerns about respect for international law and the safety of diplomatic missions.
The Palestinian News Agency reported that Israeli occupation forces opened fire on an international diplomatic delegation on Wednesday at the eastern entrance of Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank.
