CAIRO, May 21 (KUNA) -- Kuwait is eager to contribute towards efforts aiming to bring an Arab-wide 2030 sustainable development plan to fruition, its national cultural body said on Wednesday.
Kuwait's National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) is hard at work over a number of initiatives and projects that will be instrumental in pushing forward the strategy, which mainly entails the protection of the region's "cultural identity," the body's assistant chief for the cultural department Aisha Al-Mahmoud told a gathering in the Egyptian capital to discuss progress over the pan-Arab plan.
As a case in point, NCCAL routinely organizes a number of workshops and other similar events to promote the Arabic language, in addition to competitions acknowledging standout literary works and authors, the official added.
The official went on to say that the region's cultural landscape has seen rapid changes by way of emerging technologies, which in turn, can be a useful tool in efforts to encourage creativity and productivity in the cultural realm, she underlined.
Kuwait has developed a solid rapport with regional and international bodies alike as part of efforts to achieve its cultural goals and plans, said the official. (end) mm.nam
