PARIS, May 20 (KUNA) -- An intense storm in the seaside resort town of Le Lavandou, in southern France, resulted in three fatalities on Tuesday.
According to French media, the storm has caused significant material damage, affecting numerous homes, infrastructure, power lines and phone networks.
The storm, referred to as a "cold drop phenomenon," was triggered by a cold air mass from the Iberian Peninsula colliding with warm air masses over southern France.
This interaction led to severe disturbances, resulting in heavy rainfall and strong winds that exceeded the forecasts, despite warnings issued by the French Meteorological Service. (end)
