Palestine urges global support for EU move to end genocide
RAMALLAH, May 20 (KUNA) -- Palestine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed recent European efforts, described as "unprecedented", aimed at stopping what it called a campaign of genocide and displacement against Palestine.
The ministry praised the joint statement by the French, UK, and Canadian leaders' urging the Israeli government to end its aggression and move toward recognizing the State of Palestine as a step to preserve the two-state solution.
It also welcomed European foreign ministers' moves to suspend the EU-Israel partnership agreement if Israel continues its military actions, and the signing of a statement calling for sustained humanitarian aid access to Gaza.
The ministry stated that these stands align with international law, UN resolutions, and the global will for peace.
It also condemned Israeli occupation's responses, calling it anti-peace, anti-two-state solution, and part of an ongoing policy of genocide and displacement, defying global consensus.
The ministry called on all countries to join this movement and to take active steps at the UN and Security Council to implement relevant international resolutions. In a joint statement on Monday, the Leaders of France, UK and Canada strongly opposed the expansion of Israel's military operations in Gaza, and stressed that the level of human suffering there is "intolerable."
