Attack on military vehicle kills seven soldiers in SW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, May 6 (KUNA) -- At least seven soldiers of Pakistan army embraced martyrdom in a militant attack targeting a vehicle with an improvised explosive device in Pakistanآ’s southwestern Balochistan province, said military on Tuesday.
According to a press release by Pakistan militaryآ’s media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), "terrorists belonging to Indian proxy, so called Baloch Liberation Army" targeted security forcesآ’ vehicles with an improvised explosive device in general area Mach in Kachhi district of Balochistan. It confirmed that seven brave sons of soil embraced martyrdom in the attack. The military further said that sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorist present in the area, and perpetrators of this heinous and cowardly act will be brought to justice.
"Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve," said ISPR. "Nefarious designs of India and its proxies operating on Pakistani soil will be defeated by the valiant security forces, law enforcement agencies and the brave nation of Pakistan," it concluded. The attack coincides with a rise in terror attacks across Pakistan, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan. (end) sbk.aa
