KUWAIT, May 5 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Sabah on Monday attended the graduation ceremony of a new batch of 28 pilots.
In a speech delivered after distributing certificates to the graduates, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sabah stressed that this batch of young Kuwaitis are a qualitative addition to the air forces, the Ministry of Defense said in a press statement.
The minister noted that what was achieved today is the result of intensive training and continuous efforts within a modern system established by the ministry, to qualify national cadres with the highest technical and professional standards to face the increasing security challenges and keep pace with rapid developments in the aviation field.
He stressed the importance of keeping developing these air systems to enhance the capabilities of the armed forces and enable them to carry out their missions efficiently and professionally under various circumstances.
The minister urged the graduates to be dedicated, disciplined, and to continue learning and developing their capabilities.
Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sabah made a field tour that included both Salem Al-Sabah Air Base and Ali Al-Salem Air Base, during which he was briefed on a number of operational and technical facilities, including the flight simulation wing, the training building, and aircraft hangars.
He listened to a detailed briefing on the operational capabilities of these facilities and their role in supporting the air system, in addition to an explanation of the nature of the missions carried out by these aircraft, praising the high readiness and advanced technical efficiency.
Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army Air Vice Marshal Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Commander of the Air Force Air Commodore Pilot Mohammad Al-Hamdan, and a number of senior Air Force officers attended the graduation ceremony. (end)
