CAIRO, May 5 (KUNA) -- The Arab Union of War Veterans and Victims of War has named Kuwait's Sheikh Sabah Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah its first deputy president for a fifth term, assigning him the post after general assembly talks in the Egyptian capital on Monday.
Assuming the role for a fifth term is a testament to the Arab body's appreciation and respect for Kuwaiti contributions, he told KUNA, saying that he would continue to work diligently to bring the organization's goals and missions to fruition.
The pan-Arab body is a non-governmental organization formed to serve veterans and victims of war across the region, tasked with the main objective of improving their living conditions and granting them adequate social security. (end)
