KUWAIT, Feb 13 (KUNA) -- The Supreme Committee on Kuwaiti citizenship announced on Thursday the stripping of 476 citizenships with the matter referred to the cabinet.
This came during a meeting for the commission chaired by Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah.
A statement by the Interior Ministry revealed that 13 individuals had their article (11) of the citizenship law stripped of due to duel citizenships, 443 people -- through forgery, fraud, and attaining the document via affiliation -- had their article (21 bis A) citizenship stripped of, while three individuals had their article 13 citizenship taken due to conflict with the state's supreme interest.
Some 16 individuals had their citizenship, according to article 13, stripped of due to committing crimes of infamy.
One individual the article 14 citizenship stripped of due to issues with loyalty to the country. (end)
