Palestinian Pres. affirms importance of Arab Security Network

MANAMA, May 16 (KUNA) -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas affirmed on Thursday the importance of implementing Arab Security Network to support the resilience of the Palestinian people and its government to fulfill its duties.
This came in his speech in the 33rd session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the summit level, held in Manama.
The Palestinian President said that he decided to complete the implementation of decisions of the Central Council of the Liberation Organization regarding the relationship with the occupation in the face of its rejection of peace and the Arab Peace Initiative, and its continued aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian institutions, including its attacks in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
He noted that about 120 thousands Palestinians, most of them women and children, were martyred and injured over the span of more than seven months with support of the US that challenges international legitimacy, and breaking of the law as the Israeli occupation continues its aggression on the Palestinian people and their land.
He renewed his firm stand against targeting civilians, prioritizing immediate ceasefire on Palestine and increasing the humanitarian aid and ending the displacement of the Palestinian people from Gaza or the West Bank, in addition to immediately execute the bi-state solution based on international legitimacy.
President Abbas stressed the importance of calling out the US to put pressure on the Israeli occupation to release the Palestinian funds and end the use of (Veto) against the Palestinian people.
The president expressed his appreciation to the countries that voted in favor of raising the status of Palestine in the General Assembly to become a full member state, praising the countries that recently recognized the State of Palestine.
