1899 -- The Anglo-Kuwaiti Agreement is signed during the reign of Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah, the seventh ruler of Kuwait, making Kuwait a British protectorate. The aim of the agreement is to preserve Kuwait's independence and sovereignty.
1923 -- The first public library opens in Kuwait.
2001 -- The Dickson House is inaugurated as a cultural center. The House was the headquarters and residence of British political agency for over 50 years.
2009 -- The 26th government of Kuwait is formed headed by Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. It included 15 ministers. This incarnation of government resigned on May 28, 2009.
2013 -- National Assembly votes in favor of law regarding public companies laws. (end) gta
