Arab FMs recognizes Kuwait efforts, support to Palestinian legitimate rights

CAIRO, May 17 (KUNA) -- Arab foreign ministers council expressed gratitude and appreciation on Thursday for the relentless efforts exerted by the State of Kuwait, as a current member of the Security Council, to follow up the developments in the Palestinian territories and stand by the side of Palestinian people.
This came in a resolution issued by the Arab Foreign Ministers council at the conclusion of its extraordinary session held in Cairo today.
The statement noted as well Kuwait's efforts to defend Palestinian rights, most notably the recent request for an emergency meeting of the Security Council, to discuss Israeli crimes against Palestinian civilians in Gaza Strip.
The Council also thanked Kuwait for its efforts to seek international protection for Palestinian civilians in occupied Palestinian territory of 1967.
Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah reiterated during his speech at the session, solidarity and support to the Palestinian people, in defending their just cause, and its legitimate rights, including its historic and permanent rights in Jerusalem, guaranteed by the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled also emphasized Kuwait's firm position in defending the Palestinian issue due to its place as the first Arab and Muslim issue, and through its non-permanent membership in the Security Council, including supporting all proposals for an independent investigation and mechanism on these repeated Israeli violations.
Earlier Arab foreign ministers council instructed Arab League general secretariat to prepare a plan to counter the illegal decision taken by the United States to transfer its embassy to Jerusalem. (Pickup previous) mfm.mb
