Syrian army controls 25 pct of E. Ghouta - sources

AMMAN, March 4 (KUNA) -- The Syrian regime and allied militias controled a number of villages in Eastern Ghouta and have become in control of 25 percent of the area, official and opposition sources said Sunday.
A Syrian military source said the forces regained control on Nashabiya town, villages and farms in Eastern Ghouta.
Syrian army forces stormed positions of gunmen in Eastern Ghouta in retaliation of their attack against populated areas and army posts in Damascus, official news agency (Sana) quoted the source as saying.
The source said the Syrian regime forces' attacks did not take place during the truce period, which starts at 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m..
The Syrian observator for Human Rights said the government forces were in control of 25 percent of Eastern Ghouta.
Opposition Jaish Al-Islam (Army of Islam) said the opposition forces had to retreate in Eastern Ghouta after the regime troops used the scorched-earth policy. It vowed to retaliate. (end) tk.bs
