Egypt, Saudi Arabia continue facing up to external interferences

CAIRO, March 4 (KUNA) - Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi and visiting Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz reaffirmed their resolute to counter the external interferences in the domestic affairs of the Arab countries.
During their talks on Sunday, the two sides agreed to join forces against the hostile designs to scatter the seeds of sedition and fragmentation among the Arab countries, and jointly face up to the common threats including terrorism, Egyptian presidential spokesman Bassam Radhi said.
The discussions dealt with bilateral and regional issues and the political crises in some Arab countries, with emphasis on the security of the Arabian Gulf region, Ambassador Radhi said in a press release.
The talks reflected a share understanding on all regional dossiers and a desire to settle the current political crises in some Arab countries, he said.
President Al-Sisi reaffirmed that the Gulf security is an integral part of Egypt's national security.
He warmly welcomed Mohammad bin Salman who pays his first visit to Egypt since assuming office as Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Saudi Arabia in last June.
The President affirmed Egypt's desire to take to a new height the historical ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the light of the mounting challenges in the Middle East region, the spokesman pointed out.
On his part, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman voiced hope that his visit to add momentum to the strategic partnership on the state-to-state and people-to-people levels.
He also expressed hope that the visit would contribute to the unity of the Arab and Muslim world amid the current challenges.
The two sides agreed to strengthen the bilateral relations in such areas as economy, tourism and investment given the promising investment opportunities in the tourist sector in the Red Sea region, the spokesman added.
Earlier today, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman started a three-day official visit to Egypt, the first leg in his first overseas tour that will take him to the United Kingdom and the United States. (end) rg.gb
