VIENNA, Feb 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Envoy to the United Nations, Sadiq Marafi, discussed Thursday with Dean and Executive Secretary of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) Martin Kreutner, ways to enhance international cooperation between Kuwait and IACA.
The two sides praised the success achieved during the regional training program for the Middle East, which was held in Kuwait in December 2017, in collaboration with Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), the embassy said in statement.
They also praised the results of the third regional session, which was held for the first time in an Arab country and third of its kind after the two sessions in Argentina in 2015 and Uganda in 2016.
They further discussed the academy's activities within the framework of fighting corruption, and related crimes of money laundering in addition to graduate programs eligible for masters in anti-corruption for two years, the statement added.
The Academy provides a range of annual programs that can benefit many entities in Kuwait to train its staff and gain administrative and executive expertise.
The State of Kuwait has joined the International Anti-Corruption Academy on May 4, 2015, which was established by United Nations General Assembly resolution to become an international organization in 2011. (end) amq.ss
