Indian soldier killed in Pakistan firing in Kashmir

NEW DELHI, Feb 21 (KUNA) -- An Indian soldier was killed in Kupwara district of north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, a defense source said on Wednesday.
Quoting an army spokesman, the Indo Asian News Agency said that a trooper from Border Security Force (BSF) was killed following injuries sustained in Pakistan ceasefire violation on Tuesday in Tangdhar area of the Line of Control in Kupwara.
"Constable S K Murmu deployed at forward defence location on the Line of Control, was hit in the firing. He was shifted to army's base hospital in Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries late on Tuesday," the BSF spokesman was quoted as saying.
New Delhi accuses Islamabad of supporting and funding the armed groups in Kashmir, claims which Islamabad denies. (end) atk.gta
