Attorney pleads guilty to lying in US probe of Russia election interference

WASHINGTON, Feb 20 (KUNA) -- An attorney charged with making a false statement about work he did with a Donald Trump campaign adviser six years ago pleaded guilty to lying twice to investigators, during a US court appearance in Washington D.C. Tuesday, local media reported.
Alex van der Zwaan, 33, is a Dutch citizen who worked in London for the prominent New York law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. He faces sentencing in April.
Legal analysts say they expect him to make a plea deal with special counsel Robert Mueller that would avoid a significant prison term, if any. (pickup previous) rm.ibi
