Five killed in church attack in Russia's Dagestan

MOSCOW, Feb 18 (KUNA) -- At least five people were killed on Sunday in an attack carried out by a gunman in Russia's southern province of Dagestan.
A gunman shot into a crowd of people leaving a church, killing five and injuring at least four others, Russian news agency "Interfax" reported, citing security sources.
Russia has recently launched a large-scale anti-corruption campaign in Dagestan that led to the dissolution of the province's government and the arrest of a large number of officials involved.
Russian President Vladimir Putin fired, three months ago, head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov and appointed Vladimir Vasilyev. (end) as.hm
