Israel holds Hamas responsible for bombing on Gaza borders

GAZA, Feb 17 (KUNA) -- The Israeli occupation army on Saturday held Hamas movement responsible for the bombing, which occurred on the southeastern borders of Gaza.
Israel holds Hamas responsible for everything going in the Gaza Strip, IDF Spokesman Ronen Manelis said in a press statement.
He considered the incident as a dangerous "terrorist attack" seeking to destabilize the region.
He noted that the explosive device was planted within the framework of demonstrations that took place in the eastern border of the Gaza Strip last Friday.
Israeli media quoted Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu as saying that the Israeli troops would retaliate for this attack in an appropriate time.
This came after the Israeli army had announced that four soldiers were injured, two of them are in critical condition, due to the bomb which blew up earlier near an Israeli patrol.
The Israeli artillery shelled an observation post in response to the attack. No-body has claimed its responsibility for the bombing so far.
Meanwhile, Israeli fighter jets late Saturday shelled several targets in the Gaza Strip, causing material damage, but no casualties were reported.
An eyewitness told KUNA that the bombardment targeted two military positions belonging to the Palestinian factions, east of Gaza.
Some Palestinian media outlets said the Israeli air strikes attacked another site, east of Khan Younis, while the Israeli fighter jets were still flying extensively over different parts of the Strip. (pickup previous) wab.hm
