Kuwait Audit Bureau examines KD 2.353 bln worth of transactions in Jan.

KUWAIT, Feb 17 (KUNA) -- Kuwait State Audit Bureau (SAB) said Saturday it examined, during January this year, 311 bids, practices, contracts and agreements with a value of 2.353 billion Kuwaiti Dinars (KD) (USD 7.8 billion).
Out of these 311 transactions, SAB rejected 92 of them, said Khawla Al-Hathran, Acting team leader of annual reports, pre-audit and technical support, said in a statement.
She said the 92 documents were rejected because they lacked basic auditing requirements, like financial statement, original tender documents and approvals of the central tenders authority.
Al-Hathran said pre-auditing saved the state treasury KD 1.992 million (USD 6.6 million).
Meanwhile, Al-Hathran said SAB launched a new website which includes information about how the bureau worked. (end) amm.bs
