US Senate fails to move forward on immigration reforms

WASHINGTON, Feb 15 (KUNA) -- The US Senate failed Thursday to get the 60 votes required to move forward with US President Donald Trump's immigration proposal.
The proposal aimed at giving about 1.8 million undocumented immigrants known as "Dreamers" a pathway to citizenship, as well as spending USD 25 billion in border security.
The Trump-backed immigration reform bill was rejected 39-60, while the White House said it would veto the bill. (end) si.gb
