Int'l consultations to word new UNSCR on Iran - Tillerson

LONDON, Jan 22 (KUNA) -- US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Monday consultations were ongoing to word an new UN Security Council resolution aimed at addressing gas in the Iranian nuclear agreement.
There is a consensus between Washington and big European capitals that there is a need to address Iran's ballistic missile program, Tillerson told a joint news conference with British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson in London.
On Turkey, Tillerson said it has all the right to defend itself from terrorist threats regardless of their source.
The US acknowledges Turkey's right to self-defense from attacks launched by terrorists from inside Syrian territories.
Johnson said there was a European agreement on need to address Iran's ballistic missile program, and the Europeans believed they could do it.
Johnson said the Kurds were the only force fighting so-called Islamic State (IS), hence their role was critical. But he realized that Turkey has legitimate concerns over security of its borders and people. (end) kd.bs
