Egyptian Pres. to stand for second term

CAIRO, Jan 19 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi announced on Friday that he is running for a second term in office in the race to kick off in March.
In an address to the closing ceremony of the "homeland story" conference, he pledged that the coming elections will be fair and transparent.
The conference reviewed the achievements President Al-Sisi has made during his first four-year term and the main political developments in the country since 2011.
He called on voters to take part in the elections en masse, renewing his resolve to address all challenges facing the country, notably the terrorist threats. (end) asm.gb
