RABAT, Jan 17 (KUNA) -- A delegation of Kuwaiti female high school well-achievers paid a visit to the project of the KFAED-funded Tangier-Casablanca high-speed rail line in Morocco, as part of a program organized by the Fund.
The program started three days ago and will run until January 20.
Wafaa Melajeti, a senior official at the general company for train maintenance, told KUNA the project linking Tangier to Casablanca aims to develop transport network and reduce journey time.
She added that the project will be finalized and inaugurated this summer.
It will be the first high-speed train line in Africa, with a 550-passnger capacity and at a maximum speed of 320km per hour, she pointed out.
The Moroccan official has commended KFAED's support for the project, which reflects deep and strong relations between Kuwait and Morocco.
KFAED seeks to make Kuwaiti outstanding students familiar with projects in Morocco, and to highlight Kuwait's contributions to development projects overseas. (end) bma.hm
