RABAT, Jan 17 (KUNA) -- In an amazing and beautiful shape, Morocco's Kasbah of the Udayas is placed at the mouth of the Bou Regreg River opposite Sale city. This charming heritage site, which was built in the 12th century, contains different eras of Islamic history.
It was originally a fortified castle built by Almoravid dynasty during the era of Yusuf Ibn Tashfin and became an important place during the Almohad Caliphate.
The Kasbah of the Udayas has become a tourist attraction in Rabat and a world heritage site. It had witnessed restoration in 1757-1789. It also contains a number of famous and captivating places like the ancient mosque and the prince's palace. (end) ba.hm
