1923 -- A meeting held in Kuwait to end a conflict between Ibn Saud, the Iraqi, Jordanian and Hejazi governments.
1961 -- The State of Kuwait established diplomatic relations with Iran.
1967 -- An Amiri Decree was issued on defining demarcation lines of Kuwait's regional waters.
1967 -- An Amiri Decree was issued on demarcating Kuwait's borders with Saudi Arabia, which was ratified by the joint technical committee on June 27, 1967.
1969 -- Finland inaugurated its embassy in Kuwait.
1979 -- Kuwaiti singer Awadh Al-Doukhi passed away at the age of 47.
1980 -- Law number 99/1980 was issued to re-define the electoral constituencies for the National Assembly membership, where Kuwait was divided into 25 electoral districts for the selection of two MPs from each district.
1984 -- The Doha water desalination plant was inaugurated.
1995 -- The Loans and Savings Bank halted all savings activities and interest on savings accounts.
1998 -- Al-Arabi football club won the Mohammad Abdulmohsen Al-Kharafi Football Cup's first tournament.
2002 -- Sheikh Nasser Saud Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah passed away at the age of 81. He was one of those behind turning the Salmiya area into a commercial district.
2003 -- A medical team from Al-Bahar Ophthalmology Center succeeded in the first operation of its kind in Kuwait and the region using a speculum.
2003 -- Kuwait and Oman signed two agreements; one on establishing a joint committee and the other on diplomatic relations.
2006 -- Information Minister Mohammad Nasser Al-Sanousi resigned a day before his scheduled interpellation by MP Dr. Faisal Al-Mislem. The interpellation focused on the minister's violation of rights and the principle of cooperation between the two authorities, and his alleged failure of shouldering responsibilities of his ministerial tasks.
2007 -- Activities of Kuwait's First International Forum, organized by a group of Kuwaiti businessmen, kicked off in Brussels, Belgium, with the participation of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah.
2008 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued an Amiri order, appointing His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah as Prime Minister.
2008 -- The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) cut down the discount rate by 50 base points, bringing it from 4.25 percent to 3.75 percent.
2009 -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah opened the marine side of the Sabah Al-Ahmad city project in Al-Khairan area.
2011 -- Kuwait donated USD 300,000 to UN emergency fund. (end) tg
