KUWAIT, Dec 14 (KUNA) -- First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Thursday underscored the significance of developing the army's units and sectors in line with His Highness the Amir's 2035 vision.
Sheikh Nasser Al-Sabah made the remark while receiving well-wishers who congratulated him on having been given the defense portfolio.
He also emphasized that it is important to pay much attention to military scientific research in order to upgrade the army's combat efficiency, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release.
The minister called for enabling the civil society to get involved in the military philosophy with military institutions to address looming challenges and crises, while noting that the "women's role should not be ignored".
In this context, he pointed to serious objective studies aiming at allowing women to work side by side with men in the national military service.
Finally, the newly appointed first deputy prime minister and defense minister urged all army units and sectors to work sincerely and dedicatedly for the sake of the nation, wishing Kuwait security and stability under the leadership of His Highness the Amir, who is the Supreme Commander of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces, His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Prime Minister.
