RABAT, Dec 14 (KUNA) -- Arab chief lawmakers on Thursday started an emergency meeting at the Moroccan parliament to discuss the recent US move on Jerusalem.
Kuwait's National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim is taking part in the key gathering, which will mainly discuss the repercussions of the US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital and embarking on steps to move the American embassy to the city.
The meeting will discuss crystalizing a unified stance for the Arab legislatures to address the challenges arising from Trump's move.
The Arab top legislators will deliver statements during the summit on the reaction of the Arab peoples to the decision.
The summit is expected to issue a final statement on the potential moves by the Arab parliaments to face the implications of the US decision and the ensued challenges for the Palestinian cause.
Al-Ghanim arrived in Rabat Wednesday, accompanied by MPs Rakan Al-Nesf, Khalil Abul, Omar Al-Tabtabie and Al-Humaidi Al-Subaie. (end) mry.msa
