Moroccan parliament hosts special summit discussing Jerusalem

RABAT, Dec 13 (KUNA) -- Morocco will host tomorrow a summit for the heads of the Arab Shura Councils and Parliaments in light of the latest developments in Jerusalem, said a statement Wednesday.
In a statement the Moroccan parliament said that the special session would be devoted to discuss the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the step to transfer of the US embassy there.
Talks will focus on crystallizing "a specific position that amounts to the difficult challenges facing the Palestinian issue," the statement said.
The Arab Parliamentary Union, which was founded in 1974, is a parliamentary organization composed of people representing parliamentary assemblies and Shura Councils.
The Union aims to promote dialogue and consultation between the Arab Parliamentary Councils and the Arab Parliamentarians and to promote joint action and coordination of Arab parliamentary efforts in regional and international parliamentary forums. (end) mry.nhq
