KUWAIT, Dec 13 (KUNA) -- A number of Kuwaiti footballers said that the national team was ready to take part in the 23rd Gulf to be held in Kuwait between December 22 and January 5.
In remarks to KUNA today, the footballers affirmed they would do their best to entertain the Kuwaiti fans and perform well during the competition.
Despite the suspension of Kuwaiti sports activities for two years, the players vow to offer their best during the prestigious competition, Kuwaiti footballer Fahad Al-Enezi said.
The 23rd Gulf Cup of Nations will have eight countries participating including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Iraq, Yemen, and Kuwait.
The Gulf Cup kicked off in Bahrain in 1970. and Kuwait won the tournament for ten times, while Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Iraq won it three times each. Oman as a one title. (end) fr.aas.lb
