WASHINGTON, Dec 12 (KUNA) -- US federal prosecutors filed terrorism charges on Tuesday against the suspect behind the attempted early morning attack on New York's City's Port Authority Bus Terminal.
The US Attorney's Office in southern New York filed charges against Akayed Ullah, the 27-year-old man who investigators say planned to detonate a pipe bomb in an attempted suicide attack inside a pedestrian tunnel near the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan on Monday.
Ullah was taken to the hospital after his improvised explosive partially detonated, leaving him and three pedestrians injured.

He also posted an update to his Facebook account before the attack on Monday that states "Trump you failed to protect your nation." Ullah faces five charges, ranging from providing material support to a terrorist group to using a weapon of mass destruction.
In response to the NYC attack, President Donald Trump demanded an end to immigration preferences for family member of legal US residents and the diversity visa lottery program, saying they pose a danger to national security. (end) hy.ibi
