Al-Khoder: Gulf defense, aerospace exhibition "translates" Kuwaiti leadership's vision

KUWAIT, Dec 12 (KUNA) -- The Fourth Edition of Gulf Defense and Aerospace Exhibition translates His Highness the Amir's vision to make Kuwait an economic and commercial center in the region, said the Kuwaiti Army's Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mohammad Al-Khoder.
This came after the exhibition's opening, which saw the participation of 20 countries and 118 international exhibitors.
The participation rate is 30 percent higher than last year, reflecting the keenness of international companies to present the latest developments in military technology in Kuwait, said Al-Khoder.
For his part, Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics and Supply Authority, Brigadier General Ali Al-Shinifa said, the exhibition aims to present the defense technology currently used by Kuwait's Ministry of Defense.
The exhibition is looking forward to a greater support to expand the next exhibition to include more exhibits and attract companies and visitors from all ages, he said.
Meanwhile, Director of TNT Industries Justin Webb expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense for the active and continuous support and for all those who contributed to the organizing of this exhibition.
The exhibition aims to help Kuwait achieve its 2035 vision by attracting the largest and most prominent private defense industries to make it a modern financial and trading center, Webb said.
The opening was also attended by, senior army commanders and a number of leaders at the Ministry of Interior, National Guard and Directorate General of Fire.
The exhibition will last for three days with the participation of Kuwait's Ministry of Interior, the General Presidency of the National Guard, as well as international companies and organizations specializing in defense and aviation from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Bulgaria, China, Canada, Denmark, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Russia, Spain and Sweden.
