A 6.2 quake hits Iran

TEHRAN, Dec 12 (KUNA) -- A 6.2-magnitude earthquake jolted the village of Hojedk near the town of Ravar located in southeastern province of Kerman on Tuesday.
The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) said that the seismological center of the geophysics institute of Tehran University indicated that the tremor occurred at 12:15 hours local time (08:45 GMT) in an area located at 30.75 degrees latitude and 57.31 degrees longitude and in the depth of 10 kilometers.
There is no immediate report on possible casualties or damage.
Another 6.1-magnitude quake also rocked the area on December 1. The mentioned earthquake had over 300 aftershocks. (end) mw.gta
