ANKARA, Dec 11 (KUNA) -- Turkish courts on Monday issued prison sentences ranging between 7-92 years against officials for belonging to so-called Parallel Entity, accused by Ankara of planning failed coup attempt in July 2016.
Ankara's Criminal Court sentenced Cihan Kayaalp, governor of Boztepe town in Kirsehir city, for seven and a half years for "belonging to an armed terrorist organization," according to Anadolu news agency.
The court also sentenced Former Gendarmerie Commander Bulent Bulut for 10 years on same charges, it said.
A criminal court in the city of Isparta, southwest of Turkey, sentenced former Isparta governor Memduh Oguz for eight years, and President of Suleyman Demirel University, Hasan Ibicioglu, for 27 years for their links with the parallel entity.
Osman Demirhan, who was identified as a regional official for the entity, was sentenced to 92 years. (end)
