Kuwaiti, Japanese auditors eye closer ties

KUWAIT, Dec 11 (KUNA) -- The undersecretary of Kuwait's State Audit Bureau (SAB) Ismail Al-Ghanim met the secretary general of Japan's Board of Audit Katsura Sakurada on Monday, discussing strategies for increased cooperation between both sides.
A statement released by SAB cited its assistant undersecretary for administrative and financial affairs Issam Al-Mutairi as saying that the Japanese have invited the Kuwaitis to Tokyo to bring them up to speed on the most innovative audit techniques employed today.
The statement noted that the meeting took place on the sidelines of a seminar organized by the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions, which runs until the 14th of this month.
Meanwhile, Sakurada stressed how crucial knowledge sharing is for audit development, saying that financial auditors play an increasingly significant role towards economic growth.
Kuwait's SAB routinely holds meetings with audit experts in a bid to keep abreast of the latest developments in that field. (end) km.nam
