Qatar signs deal with Britain to buy 24 Typhoon jets

DOHA, Dec 10 (KUNA) -- Qatar signed a deal with Britain to purchase 24 Eurofighter Typhoon jets along with support and training on Sunday.
The deal was struck amid talks in Doha between Qatar's Deputy Premier and State Defence Minister Khaled Al-Atiyyah and British Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson, read a Qatar Armed Forces statement.
The officials also signed an agreement for the formation of a "Joint Operational Squadron," which will witness the two countries' air forces cooperating on security during the 2022 football World Cup, hosted by Qatar. (end) nnd.sd
