Pres. Al-Sisi invites Pres. Abbas for crisis meeting over US Jerusalem move

CAIRO, Dec 10 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President AbdElfatah Al-Sisi has invited Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for a meeting in Cairo on Monday to discuss the ramifications of US recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel.
The two leaders would discuss how to deal with the crisis in a way that preserve Palestinian people's rights and sanctities as well as their legitimate right to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, a presidential sposkeman said in a statement.
Egypt has denounced the US unilateral decision and dubbed it a violation to UN resolutions.
It has also voiced full rejection of any effect of the US move on the legal status of Jerusalem. (end) rg.ibi
