KUWAIT, Dec 10 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received a cable Sunday from National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim who congratulated him on the success of the 38th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit.
In the cable, Speaker Al-Ghanim conveyed greetings and congratulations on behalf of the National Assembly to His Highness the Amir, affirming that the summit, held on December 5, was commended by Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the representative of Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed of Oman, Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs Fahad bin Mahmoud Al-Saeed, and other participating countries.
The event showcased the GCC's solidarity and unity to the world, affirmed Al-Ghanim, stressing that the Kuwaiti leadership and people played a crucial part in safeguarding and protecting the Gulf states' brotherhood.
In response to the cable, His Highness the Amir thanked the parliament Speaker and MPs for their sincere gesture towards the success of the grand GCC event, hoping that he and fellow Gulf leaders would continue to seek the development and welfare of the region's people. (end)
