IISS Manama Dialogue mulls Mideast pressing security issues

MANAMA, Dec 9 (KUNA) -- Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain Sheikh Mohammad bin Mubarak opened the 13th IISS Manama Dialogue on Friday evening, with leading policymakers from the Middle East and beyond attending.
The three-day event is organized by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) between December 8 and 10 under auspices of Bahrain's Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and First Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The attendees include IISS Corresponding Executive Director Sir John Jenkins, Iraqi Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al Jaafari, Board Chairman of King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (Saudi Arabia) Prince Turki Al Faisal Al Saud, and Director of Wahid Foundation (Indonesia) Yenny Zannuba Wahid.
Kuwait is represented by President of the National Security Bureau Sheikh Thamer Ali Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah and Ambassador to Bahrain Sheikh Azzam Mubarak Al-Sabah.
The agenda topics includes, inter alia, the cyber security innovation and the Middle East, stabilising the region and fighting terrorism, and prospects for conflict resolution and reconstruction in Syria and Yemen. (end) hmd.gb
