Moving US embassy to Jerusalem won't take place before two years - US

PARIS, Dec 8 (KUNA) -- US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Friday moving the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem would take at least two years.
Moving the embassy will not take place this year and probably not next year, said Tillerson, but US President Donald Trump wanted the measures to be concrete and steady.
He was speaking to reporters after a meeting with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian in Paris.
Tillerson said the final status of Jerusalem would be left for negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis.
He said the US decision was not pre-judging the outcome of the peace talks.
Hundreds of thousands of people demonstrated in different cities around the world in protest against Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel and moving the embassy to the occupied city. (end) mjz.bs
