DUBAI, Dec 6 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti projects in Dubai will be offered exceptional entrepreneurship facilities according to an agreement announced on Wednesday.
The Kuwait Business Council (KBC) in Dubai and the Northern Emirates on Wednesday said they had signed a cooperation agreement with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development (Dubai SME), to offer the prestigious status to the Kuwaiti projects.
KBC Chairman Saad Al-Rubaian and Dubai SME Deputy CEO Saeed Matar Al Marri attended the signing ceremony.
According to the agreement, the Kuwaiti entrepreneurs will be treated just like UAE counterparts in Dubai, enjoying the advantages provided for in law 16/2016 on regulating small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Both sides will form a joint committee to follow up the implementation of the agreement over the coming two years, in addition to opening the door for Kuwaiti trainers and trainees to take part in the programs of the Dubai Entrepreneurs Academy, as well as exchanging information and expertise.
The committee will also set an annual plan for joint events and discussions, and will encourage Kuwaiti entrepreneurs to take part in the SME 100 program that identifies the top performing SMEs in Dubai.
Cooperation agreements between the two sides will lead to promising opportunities for Kuwaiti entrepreneurs, KBC's Al-Rubaian said in a press statement after the signing ceremony.
He added that Dubai is the main destination for Kuwaiti entrepreneur companies seeking expansion. He cited a recent KBC study.
The KBC is seeking to develop an integrated business system to empower the Kuwaiti SMEs entrepreneurs in Dubai, he noted.
For his part, Al Marri said that supporting the Kuwaiti young entrepreneur is part of the Dubai SME policy that aims to push them to growth and continuity, just like their UAE counterparts.
